これは日本グラモフォンのオーダーで日本の歌謡曲を録音したもの。交流のあったサム・テイラーがムードテナーとして日本で成功を収めていたのもあって、引き受けたのはないかと思われる。アメリカで録音して日本に送る形で成立したらしい。売れなかったらしく、この録音以後はない。しかし、ベースのリチャード・デヴィスが「真っ赤な太陽」演奏したってのも凄いし、ロン・カーターの「小指の想い出」だって相当なものだ。日本だけで発売されたLPらしい。アホな企画であったことは間違いない。
